Penwortham Cricket Club was founded in 1880 and became a founder member of the Palace Shield competition in 1902. The Middleforth Green ground is situated in Lower Penwortham, 2 miles south of Preston, and has been our home since 1892.

We are a thriving and successful Cricket Club with Senior & Junior teams playing in the Moore & Smalley Palace Shield Competition. We pride ourselves on our friendly atmosphere for players and spectators alike.

At senior level we currently have four Saturday teams and one Sunday team. There is a vibrant Junior section, featuring both boys and girls, with teams at U10’s, U11's, U12’s, U13's, U15's and U17's.

We also run a weekly Kwik Cricket session for children aged from five years.

We are very proud of the fact that many of our senior players have been a product of our Junior section.  As a ClubMark accredited organisation all our coaches undertake ECB approved courses.

The Club have strong links with Hutton Grammar School. Our 3rd XI play their home fixtures at the school on Saturdays throughout the season. Our winter indoor nets for juniors & seniors are held in the school sports hall.

We also have strong links with Charnock Richard CC, our 4th XI play their games there on a Saturday.

We are always delighted to welcome new members, both junior and senior in any capacity - playing, coaching, volunteering, spectating and socialising. For further details please contact our Club Secretary, Jack Aspden, at
